I've been a fan of All-American Rejects. Their first single entitled "Dirty little secrets" (which was featured in movies like She's the man) topped the hit charts in the Philippines early 2006.
Now their next single from that album is once again performing well in the Philippines. "It ends tonight" is a good song for those who want to be left alone. lol. Read the lyrics - it's all about having serenity by oneself. It's such a nice song. (Click the play button above to listen). I am not surprised that this is again being overplayed by the metro's radio stations!

The Walking Obssession

A character in John Irving’s book, The Hotel New Hampshire, taught me a lesson in my sophomore year in high school. John Berry, the middle child of the Berry family, discovered the joys of body building after a tragedy in his sister’s life. As his body got stronger, fitter and bigger, his philosophy took shape - “Get obsessed, stay obsessed” - and kept him on track for the rest of his body building life.
It’s been more than twenty years since I read The Hotel New Hampshire and admittedly its details are blurry in my mind at this point. But I can’t forget John Berry and his obsession with weight-lifting and how it changed his life. Eat, sleep, breathe something you are passionate about and it will reward you. In his case, it was a chiseled body that he took with him into his middle age.
