Sarah’s Album Update 1
Hello friends… as promised, I’d be releasing updates about Sarah Geronimo’s upcoming album as they happen.
I know it’s been a while since I made the first reveal regarding Sarah’s new album under Viva Records. This update is going to be short but sweet…
Apparently, there are about 30 songs (compositions) right now being carefully previewed and screened for the project and it’ll probably take 2 more weeks to finalize which songs will be included.
I personally have more songs in store which I truly believe would be potential carrier hits for Sarah, BUT I’ve already submitted 3 really good compositions… all of which are carrier single material as well. I’d hate to throw in all of my good songs into one basket and eventually regret it if some of them end up only as “fillers” for the album.
Let me explain further… you see, an album uses only about 3 songs in its whole selection for the purpose of promoting the record. These are what we usually know as “carrier singles”. These are the songs that the record company believe have the best chance of becoming hits. They are also ones that get played over the airwaves… are heard (and seen) on MTV and MYX… and sung by the artist on different television shows.
Each carrier single is given a 3-month “promotional” period to “sell the album”. Effectively, a span of 9 months all in all (3 months x 3 singles).
What happens to the other songs in the album, you ask? Well, they end up being “fillers” - tracks that don’t really get mileage.
You probably understand my sentiment now as to why I ended up submitting only 3 songs for the album. If I felt that I had some compositions which would be “good filler” materials for the project, I would’ve tossed ‘em in already…
Well, that’s all for now. More updates soon… probably sooner than you think. The production of Sarah’s album is slowly gaining considerable momentum and in no time I expect everything to happen in a flurry…
Don’t worry… you’ll get the blow by blow account through my updates…
…So be sure to check back soon. Cheers!
