“Sagings” and Sunscreen

Posted by sweetperceptions on Tuesday, July 31st, 2007 @ 4:36 pm in Personal - Philippines.

Its funny how one thing someone does can make a change throughout the world and throughout genres.  Mary Schmich was a columnist of the Chicago Tribune and wrote something about wearing sunscreen.  She described this writing as something she would have given in a commencement exercise.  This article has been disputed to be owned by someone else; but, soon enough when there were a lot of people who heard about this column, it was set to music.

If you just read the lyrics, you'll say it really does make a lot of sense, and truth is, you might as hear off some of those advice and take them to your life.  The first time I heard this music, was in my favorite Chillout Station, DeviantAudio.com.  I usually listen to Chillout and Lounge music for I find it relaxing.  In the middle of working and thought processing, I find myself listening to a music that tells me to wear sunscreen! :D  Well, I thought for a moment and listened intently to the advices, and found them really meaningful, not until I heard all about the sunscreen.

I must say, without this music piece and the video that has circulated in order to hype this message, this advertisement should have been dead.  The ad is very well hidden in the deep reservoire of sane and serious advice on living life.  Just watch the video while you read the lyrics.  Enjoy!

ClickBooth Confirmation Surprise

Posted by Kirbitz on Tuesday, July 31st, 2007 @ 9:43 am in Miscellaneous.

Just after i wrote the previous post, my landline phone rang. I figured "Damn, its my brother's girlfriend again!" Then a smooth, silky voice sounded a big ring on my ears, "hello, is Mr. Kirby there?". . . I thought it was a prank call and i had the notion that it was just another guy friend trying to make fun of me. But it wasnt! It was Erin from ClickBooth.com verifying my membership. She was nice and soft-spoken. Me and my dirty thoughts!

I forgot to mention on my posts that I signed up for ClickBooth just 2 days ago. Its an ad provider that offers one of the Highest Paying programs on the internet. I remembered indicating my landline number on the registration form. Never thought in my wildest dream someone is going to call me to verify my application! But all was well taken cared of; she asked about my blog and what kinda ads im going to include on it. The conversation wasnt really that long but it was a good one. She ended up saying she's going to confirm my registration and accurately enough, after like few moments, there it was. . . My ClickBooth registration.

Whats my Take on ClickBooth?

Well, after i signed in, the interface was simple and user friendly. The offers are right before your eyes. Ive seen $1.25 as the lowest price per click and some offers as high as $36 per lead! Now, how does that sound? I browsed over the site and found it very comprehensive as it is professional. If i would do good on ClickBooth, I'd definitely stick with this one as my personal choice.

Starting from now, youll be seeing ads from them, the one very useful to every one is the work from home opportunity. Look for the ad around. ;)

Ive selected only what i deem as important to each of us to benefit whether in cash or in kind. Want to try your luck with the XboX 360? Go ahead try it. You might just find yourself playing your hearts out.

If you want to give ClickBooth a try, click here as i highly recommend this ad program to everyone.

How my Kirbitz traffic is doing.

Posted by Kirbitz on Tuesday, July 31st, 2007 @ 7:28 am in Miscellaneous.

It has Just been over a week ago since i posted my first post. I remember saying "i dont know where im heading". I also posted about how to increase blog traffic part 1 (part 2 is upcoming. . .) Now this is the result of that part 1.
A week ago, i was averaging a maximum of 6-10 visitors per day. After unrelenting hours of reading, learning, asking questions, submitting to blog directories, making friends with bloggers, here's what's the result of all these.

According to Sitemeter, i am averaging 20 visits and 25 page views a day. And for the past few days since i installed sitemeter, my blog has been endowed with 131 visits with 2:30 seconds per visit on the average. Turning out attention to the world map, surprisingly enough, ive been having alot of visitors from the USA aside from my hometown of the Philippines. Once in a while, i get visitors from usual internet users as Canada, UK, Russia and even more surprising is that, ive got quite a few from far flung areas as ROmania, Kenya and Jamaica. Well, thats a good thing for me. That would only mean that i have to use English in everything i do in here to cater to everyone. As i used to tell you guys on my Weekly FreeBie Post, "In kiRbitz, every reader is important".

Some updates, just a while ago, i added my site to yet another blog directories its called thevital. I promptly received my confirmation email telling me that my blog has been accepted already. Add your website/blog is you havent submitted to them yet.

Here are some of the things i plan to do in the coming days:
  • Find more ad providers to target to my readers. (ive been doing well with affiliatebot. Try using them too. Its very easy to use as i highly recommend them.
  • Continue to have more Blogging friends and continue to have more exchange links. If you want to have a link exchange with me, you are most welcome. Just comment on thios post if you want one.
  • Write an article at assocoiatedcontent or ezineArticles and hopefully my article will be accepted. Do watch out for that one. ;)
  • Continue to exchange Technorati Faves, Diggs and Stumble. If you want to exchange, again, please feel free comment on this post and expect a reply comment on your blog from me. ;)
  • Have a Contest. Yes, Im planning to have a contest. But its still under brain-storming. Im still in the process of molding it but do watch out for this one.

Fellowship

Posted by A Bunch of Dreams (Isang Bungkos Na Pangarap) on Tuesday, July 31st, 2007 @ 6:48 am in Miscellaneous.

Brother Jojo Torreja visited us yesterday morning. I was glad to see him again and had a long fellowship about our respective families and friends and churches. Bro. Jojo is one of the persons I will never forget in my entire life. He was instrumental, together with Pastor Romy Provido in my spiritual growth. Pastor Romy led the Sumulong Baptist Church where my family used to attend church

I asked a friend last week to do me a favor -- to come up with designs for my site. He agreed and here are three of them. The designs are very simple yet able to express what I wished for my site. I am still thinking though if will have to replace the picture of my kids (above) with any of this one... Meantime, I used the designs in creating some memorabilla which you may wish to see.

RP baseball team may be left behind over chocolates

Posted by The Adventures of Vin on Tuesday, July 31st, 2007 @ 4:48 am in Personal - International.

for eating too much chocolate, the national baseball team may fail to defend its southeast asian games title. a high-ranking philippine olympic committee official revealed monday that the olympic body got turned off when members of the team carted away loads of free chocolates during the 15th asian games in doha, qatar, in december 2006.

goodness, this is so humiliating. i can't imagine how the other foreign athletes reacted when they saw this kind of behavior. i
mean, yeah, there's no fuzz on getting some freebies, but to take loads of 'em ain't cool. geez... just because of chocolates.. tsk tsk tsk

A weekend update

Posted by alohapenny on Tuesday, July 31st, 2007 @ 2:48 am in Personal - International.

A holy day of obligation...
A quick update on my sober weekend (only this time i was really sober) So yeah i still cant sleep, although the weekend has helped a little because i went home so i pretty much slept the whole time, from the 3hour bus ride until we had to go to church on Sunday morning, yes i go to church. I woke up like 4am and started the day with ice cold milo (lots and lots of ice boosts my energy levels to yey high) and hotsilog. (with lots and lots of rice to boost my energy levels even yey higher) On the way to the church i fell asleep again, i was reading a copy of The Great Gatsby, which i've had for like the longest time but never got to read it, and after three chapters zzzz (wtf? you just woke up) Yeah im as good as dead during the weekends (except when there are drinking sessions or the like) all i do is sleep, making up for the hours i wasted staring at the walls and ceilings of my room looking for sheep to count. And we know ive had a lot of that in the past week. Oh and i forgot to mention that the church was in Manaoag, Pangasinan a good 5hour trip from my place, it was the last sunday of the month (or something) so we go to church there at times like those. Yeah my family is devoted like that.

It didn’t come from outer space… nor did it come from another time…

It really wasn't something I normally try out. I dislike testing new browsers because well, I'm happy with what I have. The trio of Firefox, IE, Opera and Safari would suffice. But having a weird name, it really roused up my curiosity. SpaceTime is a new generation browser that I recently found. It fosters 3D browsing which isn't really that common in our browsers to date.

But what is 3D browsing anyway? Based on what I've seen from the browser so far, it means good-bye tabs. But that doesn't mean we go back to single window viewing. The tabs are replaced by windows. Yep, windows. Each page you want to view will appear as one window, cascaded in a manner similar to Vista's Flip 3D.

For the most part, SpaceTime is a great proof of concept. Why brand it as a proof of concept then? From the user's POV, this browser is incomplete. Proxies have to be set using Internet Explorer instead of having an option on its own. Customization is limited mostly to the 3D interface.

No.B. You need to have a pretty good system for this to run seamlessly. But don't fret. Even my under-average laptop can handle so there isn't really any reason not to try it out. In case though you do try it on a low-spec computer, be prepared to see this (or similar) dialog.

don't say I didn't warn you...
