Oh cool! A
Devil May Cry 3 slot machine.

I doubt they’d have that in Illinois.

Because that’s the only place I’ll get to play those slot machines again. That’s where I played for the first time.
My Dad said I’m a good writer. He said I’m going to have a good a future because I could be an engineer who’s good in writing. (They say that when your field is more related to math and science, you are no good in English.) So I’m happy and proud.

Only my blog posts are far from being good.
I will email my Dad what we came up with our proposal that we submitted yesterday after I edit and upload the pictures from Maru’s BEER-day celebration.

One can bear in mind these very easy tips to follow for a worry free travel even when circumstances are not on your side. The following are according to one travel blogger:
- When it rains: play games, visit museums and galleries, take an umbrella and go out anyway
- When the tourists are swarming: get out earlier, laugh it off, make friends, or get off the beaten track
- When the hawkers are in your face selling t-shirts: politely but firmly decline (unless you want one) and move on
- When the coveted cafe or nook has clearly been bulldozed for a shopping complex: shrug and seek out some other local haunts
- When the place just doesn’t look like the postcards/guidebook promised: lighten up. Try and ‘discover’ things rather than visiting all the usual suspects
- When you get sick: Don’t push through it; give in, look after yourself and cross your fingers it’s a 24-hour thing.
- You get robbed: Report it to the police, keep safe, try and keep going. Don’t let it be your only holiday memory.
Any more problems you can think of? Post it in the comment section below. Thanks

The picture pretty much explains itself… unless you can’t get it cause you spell it similarly!

Write the songs… and sing the demo versions…
A ton of songs to be done… a flurry of songwriting tasks to complete! Just coming off the heels of Sarah’s “Taking Flight” album release, I’ve been asked to write a few songs for a couple of Viva artists with albums coming out pretty soon as well.

White. Arguably the most common color on the web. Taking a look at some of the popular sites out there, Google and Yahoo for instance, are predominantly white. But white is one the most energy inefficient color to produce, as it uses up the most power.
For those who are concerned about the environment (and if you're not, its probably better if you start to), there are methods of minimizing the power consumed even when you depend on predominantly white pages. Of course, there's the usual decrease the brightness blah-blah but there are better ways.
For the search engines, you can opt to use Blackle. Sort of like the Black Google (hence the name), Blackle aims to lessen energy consumption through one simple method. Change the background color of the search engine. If you would take notice of its name, you would already know. The page color is predominantly black.

Black is more energy efficient compared to other colors. And well, in my case, its more pleasing to my eye. And its still powered by Google! As a note, it also keeps the number of watt hours saved listed at the bottom.
Being made using Google's customized search engines, it's bound to have a few differences between the traditional Google.com and Blackle.com. But the differences aren't too great. Just to show you how different the results are, here is a sample from Google.com (on top) and Blackle.com (at the bottom) when I searched for "gadgetspotter".

Not too different eh? BTW, I was a bit surprised that this blog ranked number 2 on the list when I made this entry. But back to the topic, Blackle would make a nice alternative for energy conservation wouldn't it?

I can’t believe there’s
MyDeathSpace.com. The site is currently down. The server couldn’t handle the traffic it generated when AP made an article about the site.
The Philippines is where:
1. Starbucks is more expensive than gas.
2. Every street has basketball courts, but every town has just one school.
3. Students pay more than they learn.
4. Doctors go back to school to be nurses abroad.
5. Everything is spoofed!
6. Fastfood is a diet meal.
7. Rodents are normal house pets.
8. Cigarette and beer are necessities. Lottery is a commodity.
9. Soap opera is reality, news provide the dramas of life.
10. Actors make the rules and politicians provide the entertainment.
Arvy sent that as sms months ago. I say that numbers 6, 7, 8, and 9 aren’t true for everyone in the country. Anyone agree with me?
The ff. are what kept me busy (or reasons why I haven’t blogged lately) — Lucky Star, room organizing (not much of a success though), thesis proposal,
for you updates, M-O, Angel Sanctuary art (yes, I’ve started drawing again), and burning downloads/requests.

Those are some I remember at the moment. I spend most of the time at home and trying to get most of my to-do list done. I always get side-tracked, so I barely finish any.

Filipino nurses who who moved to Cambridge to help ease their staffing shortages are now facing deportation. The Home Office has refused to renew the work permits.
The decision comes after senior carers were taken off the national shortage jobs list. Most of these nurses have lived in Cambridge for many years and city MP David Howarth has now taken up their case.
Mr Howarth said: "These are qualified and hardworking nurses who came to this country at our request and they are now simply being discarded. This is not the way to treat people doing a very important and difficult job."
Home Office officials have also announced they will no longer issue work permits to foreign nationals for senior carer positions.
A Home Office spokesman said: "We treat each work permit renewal on a case-by-case basis and cannot comment on individual cases. The shortage list is made up of roles where professionals within the industries involved have told us there is a chronic shortage of applicants."
Mr Howard's letter to Mr Byrne said: "This policy seems unfair and ill-judged and I hope your department will reconsider it. This decision will lead to a shortage of carers.
"I hope the Home Office will reassess whether this role should be again included on the shortage list to allow these vacancies to be filled by overseas staff."
