If you want…

… To have my post REMOVED from Google, LET THEM KNOW as I already requested them to. The cache most importantly. If you check my SOURCE file, you would see I added the NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW, NOCACHE tags. Then again, I doubt all of you know what they mean. >_>

Heck, Google will still likely to have my page cached. Why won’t you just buy Google and do something, will you?

If you got something to say to me, let me know directly instead of asking people to do it for you.

Wow, it’s terribly hard to contain my being annoyed. Effin’ JAY won’t even REPLY! Dammit.

Blast from the Past

Posted by A Matter of Perspective on Monday, October 1st, 2007 @ 11:33 pm in Personal - International.

My colleague K is finally tying the knot with her long time boyfriend A. In two weeks' time, the two lovebirds will be exchanging vows in the same church that J and I were married in almost two years ago.

A few months back, K was consulting me for advice on unique personalized wedding favors. During our time, I remembered how hard it was to come up with ideas because we wanted them inexpensive but at the same time useful to the people receiving them. Ah yes, the stress of a bride-to-be! But having said that, I would definitely (and gladly) do all the preparations all over again. I was having that much fun inspite of all the pressures.

Update on Mr. Copycat

It looks like MC has finally gotten our drift that he is not allowed anymore to copy and paste our articles without acknowledging us as his source. How do I know this? Well, he has not been posting as much in the egroup as he was before. I am glad that all our hard work has paid off. But then again, I'm not keeping my hopes up because you never know when he might strike again.

It’s raining, it’s pouring!

No, I am not talking about the weather here in Oz. It's the numerous paid posting opportunities that I was able to reserve just this morning. Although I am giddy with happiness and excitement, I am also starting to feel a bit panicky over the huge amount of work I must turn in within the next 48 hours. Argh! So much to do but so little time! :P

Un-crowned Glory

Being a mother is definitely a life-changing experience. There are so many adjustments to make in your personal life that it can be very overwhelming at times. Not only has it been an emotional rollercoaster ride (blame it on the hormones), but the physical changes that have occurred in my body can be challenging as well.

Take my case for example. I have noticed in the previous months how weak my hair has become. It has become dull and so brittle that everyday I shed a huge amount of it. This has been making me anxious because I have always taken cared of my hair for as long as I can remember. I reckon all the stress of being a new parent may be the culprit.

I am not quite sure what to do about it at the moment. I suppose consulting Hair Loss Specialists would help. Getting enough rest could also prevent further damage. Right now, I am willing to take whatever steps I need to fix this problem. I don’t want to go bald at this stage of my life! God forbid!

Back to the daily grind

The long weekend seemed to just fly by so fast, I don't believe we were able to get the most out if it. Even if J didn't have any work yesterday as it was Labor Day here, we still don't get a break from the chores and obligations that we have at home. Wouldn't it be just awesome if we really had nothing to do on another long weekend? *sigh* Don't mind me. I'm just thinking out loud. :P

Criminal Law

Posted by Culture Shiok! Singapore OFW on Monday, October 1st, 2007 @ 12:04 pm in Personal - International.

Criminal prosecution in Singapore is instituted by the state which is represented by the Attorney General's Department, with some exceptions like private summons which are brought by individuals for certain minor offenses or nuisances. The Attorney General's Department is headed by the Attorney General, assisted by the Solicitor General and a staff of deputy public prosecutors, all of whom are legally qualified and recruited through the Legal Service Commission Commission. The Attorney General is appointed by the President on the advice of the Prime Minister from among persons qualified as Supreme Court judges.

A "crime" is any act or omission (of an act) in violation of a public law forbidding or commanding it. Though there are some common law crimes, most crimes in the United States are established by local, state, and federal governments. Criminal laws vary significantly from state to state. There is, however, a Model Penal Code (MPC) which serves as a good starting place to gain an understanding of the basic structure of criminal liability.

Go to the Los Angeles Criminal Attorney Blog | California Criminal Defense Lawyers Forum and discuss issues related to California criminal law, strategies in the defense of state and federal crimes, along with analysis of celebrity prosecution including Phil Spector, Lindsay Lohan, and Paris Hilton. Blog author, lawyer Dmitry Gorin, is a Professor at UCLA and Pepperdine Law School, and provides frequent commentary on Court TV.

Ignorance of the law excuses no one.

Announcer, Commentator, Icon, Legend

Posted by Hilagang Bakal on Monday, October 1st, 2007 @ 7:51 am in Personal - Philippines, Miscellaneous.

Susunod!

In denial.

Fourth year ako noon.

No classes. Unhealthy competition. Walang kamatayang recycled cheers. Undying spirit ng mga mag-aaral. Losers. Winners.

For example:

(Setting: Isang UAAP game)

Announcer: Number 17 clutched in an 18-footer.

During that time, napakagaling talaga ng commentator. As in (Salt). Hands down ako sa kanya. Without any reason at all, sinabi ko yun. Well, nangyari na nga ang dapat nangyari.

Intrams is a five-day event. May sipon ako noong first day. As in, while doing the job, todo ang singa ko. Pinaparinig ko pa nga yun sa microphone. Nakakairita talaga pag may sipon.

Napaos ako kaagad on the first game I commented.

On that first game, “nagpauso” kuno ako ng one liner:

“Rice in a box, sulit na sulit, kuwarenta pesos lang!”

By the way, nag-sponsor din kasi ang Rice in A Box sa event na yun.

At everytime na nakakasalubong ko yung mga nakakabatang schoolmates ko, they are like… parang… saying it to me. Honestly, akala ko iniinsulto ako. Pero, I realize, they admire me. Kapal talaga ng mukha ko.

Being announcer/commentator was totally fun. Last Christmas nga, may natanggap akong regalo from those younger schoolmates. Nakakatuwa kahit di kami close, may natatanggap ako from them unexpectedly. Siyempre hindi ko puwedeng tanggihan yun. Sayang naman, di ba?

Last week, ginanap ang intrams sa school. This time, wala na ako. It means na gusto nila ako at ang style kong ngarag.

Pero, mariin ko itong tinanggihan. Intrams nila ‘to. Tapos na ang panahon ko. I’ve made my mark. (English yun)

National OT Month in Canada

swiped from caotOctober is National Occupational Therapy month in Canada and this year’s theme is Yes, I can!

Not many people are aware of what occupational therapy (OT) is. OT, as defined by the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT), is…

Occupational therapy is a health profession concerned with promoting health and well-being through occupation. Occupation refers to everything that people do during the course of everyday life (CAOT Position Statement on Everyday Occupations and Health, 2003). The primary goal of occupational therapy is to enable people to participate in the occupations which give meaning and purpose to their lives. Occupational therapists have a broad education that provides them with the skills and knowledge to work collaboratively with people of all ages and abilities that experience obstacles to participation. These obstacles may result from a change in function (thinking, doing, feeling) because of illness or disability, and/or barriers in the social, institutional or and physical environment. (Adapted from the World Federation of Occupational Therapists, 2004)

As part of their awareness campaign, they are also encouraging people to consider a career in OT. Read their fact sheet on this for more information.
