Most Livable Metro-Area Suburbs

Posted by on Friday, October 26th, 2007 @ 8:38 pm in Lifestyle, Miscellaneous.

If you are planning to migrate to the US, the following article may be of some use to you.

With homes in the nation’s cities becoming increasingly unaffordable, today the move to the suburbs is often as much about saving some cash as it is about settling beyond the white picket fence.

There are prominent suburbs most everyone knows–these include Greenwich, Conn., Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., or Alpine, N.J. — where entree is dependent on the size of one’s wallet.

And there are suburbs that welcome those whose bank accounts don’t end in seven figures.

Research was done based on the following factors:

  • education level of neighbors
  • homeownership
  • house area
  • quality of local schools
  • safety
  • Too much traffic on my new domain

A couple of days ago, Jehzeel and I launched PRC Board Exam Results. It’s a web archive intended to provide recent results board exam results published by the Professional Regulation Commission. Since then, we’ve been doing serious campaigns and SEOs for the site.

Yesterday, the PRC released the LET August 2007 results. My english teacher friend woke me early in the morning just to announce that the results are already released. I immediately jumped to my computer to make posts.

An hour after I made my posts, the website experienced problems. Some users receive an Internal Server Error message. Sometimes, the wordpress loses its connection to the MySQL Server. We were able to fix the problem when we divided the results into several pages. It reduced the server’s load.

When I checked the traffic in the evening, the site statistics showed that my site received 20,000 page views on that day. Wow. That’s the highest traffic I received for a single day statistic.

SELaplana, another site which posts board exam results, even crashed because of the huge traffic.

    Batang Yagit is now PR4

Yepee! I’m just glad Google Bot did not miss my blog when he last made a Page Rank check on the web. After I bought BatangYagit.com, from 2, my PR went down to zero. All of my hopes went down also. But now, I can brag my PR4. Hahaha.

I’m in NCCC Mall now for the 1st Mindanao Bloggers Summit. I’m excited for the day’s activities.

Out of country escapade II: Hong Kong Galore

Posted by on Friday, October 26th, 2007 @ 6:24 pm in Personal - International.

This is part two of the out of country vacation I went to last August. After spending two days in Macau and being convinced by other Pinoys, we got our visa to go to China’s border gate (Portas dos Cerco) just up North and go shopping. It actually looks like the Tutuban Mall in Divisoria, even the products they were selling, prices are cheap too. I was able to buy shoes of course. We decided to split and meet up by noon. After shopping we went back to the hotel and packed our bags proceeded to the Macau-Hong Kong Ferry Terminal.

    Oh Boy! (Part 3)
