Normal Development for Assessment and Management of Cerebral Palsy Seminar
Everyone is invited to attend the seminar on Normal Development for Assessment and Management of Cerebral Palsy on February 24, 2008 (Sunday). Tentative venue is at the CME Auditorium, University of Santo Tomas (to be confirmed).
About the Speaker
Since 2005, Ms. Deanna Kathrina Z. Maranion has conducted lectures, seminar-workshops and short courses about the Bobath Concept to therapists, physicians, teachers and special education specialists, nurses and caregivers, parents in clinics, hospitals and academic institutions in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. She has also assisted in the Bobath Introductory Course in Jakarta, Indonesia in August 2007. Ms. Maranion completed the Bobath Pediatric Basic Course in South Korea in 2005. She has been in pediatric PT practice since 1998.
Objectives
- Analyze normal motor development and skills acquisition during the first two years of life.
- Discuss relevant events in the maturation of the nervous system during the first two years of life.
- Discuss applications of knowledge and observations of normal development in treatment and assessment of sensorimotor problems particularly those seen in cerebral palsy.
