The Autism Society of the Philippines (ASP) will be holding the following seminars this July.
A. INCLUSION AND MAINSTREAMING
Inclusion refers to the practice of educating students with special needs in regular classes for all or nearly all of the day instead of in special education classes. Mainstreaming is the practice of bringing students out of the isolation of special schools and into the “mainstream” of student life. Learn the similarities/differences and advantages/disadvantages of inclusion and mainstreaming for children with autism and other special needs.
B. DIFFERENTIATED INSTRUCTION
Differentiated learning/instruction is a process to approach teaching and learning for students of differing abilities in the same class. It involves teachers using a variety of instructional strategies that address diverse student learning needs, maximizing the possibilities of each learner. The seminar will focus on the components of differentiated instruction and how they will benefit students with autism and other special needs.
